Document Shredding Event
The Scottsdale Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit in conjunction with the Mountainside Middle School will present a Paper Shredding Event sponsored by the Northeast Valley Coalition Against Methamphetamine.
Any resident of Maricopa County may bring up to four boxes of personal documents to be shredded on site at no charge. The event begins at 8:00 AM and will conclude at 10:30 AM or when the two 10,000 lb capacity trucks provided by Cintas Document Management fill up (whichever comes first).
Please only bring paper for shredding. This is just one step in making it more difficult for criminals to commit identity theft.
Event will be held at Mountainside Middle School, 11256 N. 128th Street. Contact: Terri Terlazzo

Paper Shredding and Drug Disposal Event
The Scottsdale Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit in association with the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community Police and Wal-Mart are presenting a paper shredding event along with the opportunity to dispose of unneeded prescription drugs. This event is open to any resident of Maricopa County and will be held in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4915 N. Pima Road in Scottsdale. The event will take place on Thursday, May 14th, from 8:00 am until 10:30 am, or until the 10,000 lb capacity truck is full. Residents can bring up to four boxes of personal documents (paper only) which will be shredded on site for free. Shredding personal documents makes it harder for criminals to commit identity theft. Prescription medication that is no longer needed may be disposed of in an environmentally safe way that will also keep drugs out of the hands of children and illegitimate users. Please follow these guidelines when brining medication: Pills and capsules must be in a clear plastic sandwich bag (no containers) labeled with the name of the drug. Liquid medications must be in original bottles. Please refrain from bringing used syringes or bio-waste as these will not be accepted.
For further information please contact Officer Craig Abernethy at 480-312-2594 or email at cabernethy@scottsdaleaz.gov.
